CLICK ON AN IMAGE TO VIEW SLIDESHOW The concrete foundations are poured. This will support the concrete blocks that will form the walls of the planters. The corner beads are allowed to set before the waterproof coatings are applied. The wall of the structures are built using concrete blocks and a plastic damp proof course in installed (DPC). Openings for lights are cut into the walls. Wiring for the lights is installed during the construction of the structure. Stainless steel beads are ‘bedded-in’ around the top of the walls to provide durable and strong edges and corners to the planters, ensuring that these areas do not break or crack if accidentally knocked into. Using stainless steel beads protects against the beads rusting. The inside face of the planter walls are waterproofed using Tritons TT-55 cementitious tanking system. This will prevent moisture from the earth inside penetrating the concrete block walls. The final 2 coats of specialist waterproof cement plaster is applied to the walls and tops of the planters to completely waterproof the structure for many years to come.
